Dr Ogechi Okafor graduated B.A (Hons) Education from Abia State University, Uturu, in 1993. I
later proceeded to the prestigious University of Lagos to earn a Masters in Industrial and Labour
Relations in 1998, M.Sc and Ph.D in Educational Administration in 2007 and 2015 respectively.
Over the yearsI have carried out research studies in such thematic areas as Receptivity of Peace
and Conflict Prevention Intervention (amongYoungLearners); Integrating Peace Culture into
Instructional Leadership Behavior (among Teachers); Gender and Organizational Politics;
Gender and Sustainable Participation; Gender Responsive Pedagogy; Innovation and Human
Capital Development; Education and Capacity Building; Change Management Education and
Global Politics and others. The reports of these studies can be found in over 20 journal and
conference publications.
As a FAWE member, I have served as a country representative on the following that include:
Finalization of Gender Responsive Education Sector Plan (GRESP) organized by UNICEF 2020
through provision of an empirical data to situate the issues of gender in Nigeria; Member of the
planning committee on the Stakeholders Country Consultation: Towards a west and Central
African Commitment for Education, Healthy and Thriving Adolescents and Young people
organized by NATCOM-UNESCO 2020; Participated in the review and development of the
National Policy on Gender in Education and Its Implementation Framework; Participated in
Gender Responsive Pedagogy Virtual Training by FAWE Regional Office Nairobi 2021;
Supporting girls and women through capacity building on dignity of labour.
I am a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria (IPMAN).
I am an adjunct faculty member at the National Open University of Nigeria and a private
consultant in the area of Educational Pedagogical Structures and Human Resource Management.
